African Organics Natural Shampoo for Normal Hair

So recently i have been using African Organics Natural Shampoo for Normal Hair and it is working well - it does make my hair kind of frizzy on top and so i just put a little styling products on to tame it. But that said i'm NOT using a conditioner which i'm sure would tame my hair and probably get rid of extra frizz.
It has a pleasnt smell and is PH balanced. It also has certified organic ingredients. I like the packaging very much with it's shiny gold square - makes it look worth it's money.
That said i am happy with the shampoo and think that if you are in the market for a reasoable priced shampoo (R39) at my local health shop then give it a try - you maybe pleasantly surprised.

Enchantrix Conditioner (Original Formula)

I have been trying to use the Enchantrix conditioner and according to their website it's the Origianl Formula. I'm hoping the other of their conditioners are improved from this one as I haven't been having much joy at all with it. It just doesn't like my hair. Or should i say my hair doesn't like it! Every time no matter how much i rinse or how little i use it just seems to make my hair limp and look greasy even though it has just been washed with lovely fresh shampoo. Which is really quite annoying as i have long hair and lots of it! and washing it is quite a mission every day so having gone through the mission only to feel like you hair looks dirty is kinda sad. But it may totally work for you - my hair is just not agreeing with it.
But thats not to say I didn't find a use for the conditioner :) It makes a lovely body wash - making my skin feel smooth and smells fresh and clean. So my money is not wasted.
I must say i really liked their website. take a look at it  here.
So back to conditioner searching for me..... oh well

Shampooo

At the moment i am using Earth Sap Lavender and Sugar Beet shampoo for all hair types. And i must say i am really enjoying it :) It smells good (very lavender-ee) and i am happy with the result of using it everyday. My hair is soft and nice so for now i will definatley being using this bottle up before i try something new. And who knows maybe i'll end up coming back to buying it again cause i like it so much.
So for now my quest for really good organic shampoo is going really well. Now for the conditioner...... I will have to buy it and try it out :)

Growing my own organic Peas

Peas

I'm so excited! I managed to grow my own organic peas :) in pots on my front porch. Pesticide free and in soil from my garden. They are delicious and very sweet. It has inspired me to grow more of my own veggies. I am currently trying to grow potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, little tomatoes, green beans, watermelon, strawberries, chillies and some herbs.

There is something so rewarding about tasting things that you have grown yourself :) and it tatses so good as it is so fresh once picked and eaten or cooked straight away

Organic Deodorant

So I'm trying to be organic...
i've got the buying organic veggies down - and doing quite well i might add :) my hubby and i (daughter in tow) have found the nicest organic and fresh produce market in tokai/retreat.
But I'm still looking for a decent deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, moisteriser, etc...
So for a bit of history - while wanting to smell nice i've been using the normal aluminum based roll-ons for years. Just played around with the many different smells and pretty packaging. But have since discovered that aluminum and lauryl sulphates and parabens are ALL very bad for you and decided to find products that don't conatin these things...cause deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body loations, soaps, cosmetics etc. all contain one or all of these bad things!!! BUT to my amazement while searching through every single roll-on in pick n pay i found that i could not find one roll-on deodorant that didn't contain aluminum! boy oh boy what an irriating time reading every single label. There are so many makes and even the ones that look good for you claiming to be healthy - like "rooibos or tea tree" deo still have one of these bad products in them. so i have been using taa daa (drum roll) baby powder :) it smells nice and has been ok - besides the white marks on my black tops all is well.
Then came the warmer weather.... and the baby powder didn't last so well versus smell ratio... so i had to re-think my idea for deo. and so for now i am trying out Pure beginnings - eco roll on in forest fragrance.

i'll keep you posted if it's any good :)  or bad... either way.
